Fellowships in the ATLAS programme. PhD-fellowship positions are available through the ATLAS program funded by the EU. Huygens Fellowships (Huygens homepage) Students from a list of 53 countries (check the NUFFIC site) can apply for a fellowship from the Netherlands Organisation for International Cooperation in Higher Education (NUFFIC) either at the advanced Masters level or at the PhD level. These scholarships are intended for stays at LCVU for a duration of 3 - 12 months. application can be done using the NUFFIC Huygens Application Form. But it is necessary to contact one of the staff members of LCVU beforehand, since the application entails approval and invitation by a host. A research project can be defined after discussing with one of the scientific staff of the LCVU groups. The selection is done via the NUFFIC organisation. Next deadline: 1 Feb. 2003. |
2-year scholarships for the Masters in Laser Sciences program Special two-year bursaries are available for students who wish to follow the two-year program Masters in laser sciences, but only for students originating from one of 56 developing countries (Albania, Armenia, Autonomous Palestinian Territories, Bangladesh, Benin, Bhutan, Bolivia, Bosnia-Hercegovina, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Cape Verde, China (except HongKong and Macao), Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Georgia, Ghana, Guatemala, Guinea-Bissau, India, Indonesia, Iran, Ivory Coast, Jordan, Kenya, Macedonia, Mali, Moldova, Mongolia, Mozambique, Namibia, Nepal, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Suriname, Tanzania, Thailand, Uganda, Vietnam, Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe). These bursaries are avaliable through NUFFIC and may be requested through the Laser Centre VU. After an assessment of the application by LCVU we will inform you and you can write an application to the Netherlands embassy in your country using this Application form. Your letter (or email) to LCVU should contain a Curriculum Vitae providing us with information on your academic training, university (including grades) and other scientific experience so that we are able to make a pre-selection of candidates. Note that this procedure holds for the Masters program starting in September 2004 and that the application must be submitted before 1st April 2004 at one of the Netherlands embassies. Therefore your letter to LCVU should be submitted before 1st January 2004.
